C-210 Protrusions with tactile magnetic Walnut knobs seamlessly integrates three elemental materials, concrete, steel and wood. The counter-top as well as the drawer faces are all cast concrete. The piece is fully wrapped and fully finished (front and back) with hand-blackened steel that is employed as a veneer and sealed with oil and buffed wax. Walnut protrusions are affixed via earth magnets, providing for a dynamic piece that can be played with and adjusted by the user. The cabinet door hardware is Blum tip-on, two doors open to reveal rich walnut with adjustable shelving. The drawers are Blum self closing tip-on Movento slides. The piece rests on a concrete base that acts as a cantilever and adds an airy light quality to the piece, juxtaposing the traditionally heavy materials.
